Science Fiction Museum's Script Writers' Guidelines |
What is the Script Writers' Workshop?
The Script Writers' Workshop is a place to post your scripts
for exposure, feedback, and whatever benefits you may surmise
open display of your script may afford.
How do I submit a script?
Simple. Writers submit scripts using our
script submission form.
Provided the script meets certain undisclosed arbitrary criteria,
we post the script.
What is this undisclosed arbitrary criteria?
Well, if we told you it wouldn't be undisclosed now would it.
Below you will find some general, broad-stroke type of hints as to the
guidelines. But honestly, the guidelines are arbitrary. We don't know
ourselves from day to day what will drive our decision making process.
Admittedly we rarely reject a script or story. But we definitely reserve
the right to do so without explanation to you--or even to ourselves.
- Submit stories using our submission form.
- No Pornography.
- It might not be politically correct to be conservative on this issue.
As time-tripping slimemolds from the 34th century we aren't overly
concerned about political correctitude. Believe it, there are plenty
of places on the web for porn. Science Fiction Museum doesn't have to
be one of them. Does this mean that we guarantee
zero material which some may find offensive? Nope. No guarantee.
While we do filter
material, you should not take that as any indication that all reference to sex has been
purged. We do try to shoot for PG-13 type rating for the site.
Even so our philosophy is no child should view any website without
express overview and concent by a parent or guardian.
- No racist, or sexist material.
- Racism and sexism are hidden forms of xenophobia. As aliens to this planet obviously we don't want to encourage that kind of behavior.
- We don't pay.
- Oooo, bummer. No money. Well, as soon as there is a viable business model for eZines on the internet we'll see about paying. Meanwhile, you can rest assured we are all in the same boat.
When it comes to Sci-Fi I guess it pays to do what you love. Because lordy-lordy there ain't much money it.
If we've missed anything just ask. We'll email you an answer then add it to this list.
